Say Goodbye to Boring - Unique Design Products

One of the best things about working in the Interior Design world is getting to see all the unique and innovative product options companies are creating.  There are so many ways to add texture and color to a space so you don't have to sacrifice exciting for boring.  While budget is almost always an issue, even if you just choose one unique look and create a focal point or two, it will improve your overall design exponentially.  I've put together a small list (because there are droves you can choose from) of my favorites from my go-to resource for all things different.  For more ideas visit them at DSA Inc HERE.

EZO BORD - ACOUSTICAL MATERIALS

One of my biggest requests is sound protection.  And a great company for that is EzoBord.  They are a manufacturer that specializes in everything acoustics.  Your options with them are almost endless.  Gone are the days of boring acoustical panels plastered to the wall to ease sound reverberation.  Now they have decorative ceiling treatment grids and blades as well as creative wall options that serve as art and focal points.  Their website claim is that they use "highly adaptable acoustical panel material made with recycled water bottles.  It is flexible, decorative, moldable, tackable, sound dampening, and super easy to install".  Learn more about their product options HERE.

INTERLAM - LARGER FORMAT DECORATIVE SURFACES

LUMICOR - DECORATIVE RESIN

 Another frequent favorite of mine is Lumicor.  This is a pricier product but worth it if you can add even hints of it in your design somewhere to beef up the pizazz in your space.  "Lumicor products are made by using R4 recycled resins."  They can be used as divider panels, privacy screens, decorative surfaces, light fixtures, sculptures and even in outdoor applications.  This is such an amazing product.  Learn more about them HERE at www.lumicor.com.

QUIET EARTH MOSS - NATURAL WALL PRODUCTS

If you're looking to bring the outdoors inside in a big way, this is probably the product for you.  It has so many great attributes including acoustical properties, calming elements, moisture control and high visual appeal.  They will tell you that "Quiet Earth is an organically preserved natural moss product that brings custom green spaces indoors".  And they mean it.  Check them out at their website at www.quietearthmoss.com.

MOZ DESIGNS - DECORATIVE METALS

FINAL THOUGHTS

If I can give you any good design advice, it's going to be to not settle for a boring design.  You really don't have to destroy your budget to add a few areas of design pop.  There are so many amazing materials to choose from these days with all the fantastic manufacturers creating innovative products every day.  So don't settle.  Look for inspiration, find a great product and do something spectacular in your space today!
