Take the What's My Library Design Style Quiz!
Getting started might seem intimidating at first but this design starter check list makes it so much easier. So let's dive right in!
TOP 7 KICKSTARTERS CHECKLIST
1.) Know your design style - before you can even express your ideas to anyone, you need to know where you stand and how you want your Library to look. Take the Design Style Quiz to get your results so you can cross #1 off your list.
2.) Evaluate the size of your project - know whether or not you want to put together a simple interiors update or if you plan on a complete over haul.
3.) Know your budget - this goes hand in hand with your project size since the budget always dictates the size of the project. Know what you have to work with before you ever get started and stick to it!
4.) Decide who will do the work - You can absolutely do it yourself (learn more about that here on my website). But if you choose to hire a professional, do a little research to find out who you want on your team.
5.) Interview your candidates - always sit down with your interior design candidates and a great list of questions to be sure you can work well together.
6.) Get your list together! - Put together a thorough list of questions to ask your designers so you can make the most educated decision possible.
7.) Get your team together! - This one is all about putting together your in-house decision makers. Keep it to 3 if at all possible. But no more than 5 if you insist on including that many people. Trust me on this one.
8.) Have fun with it! - don't overthink everything. Your project will come together and be amazing. Overthinking will just stress you out. Expect hiccups and know that there is ALWAYS a solution.
Now's the time. Go discover your design style. Even if you're not ready to begin a new project just yet, this is a fun way to explore what you currently have and what you might do to make a few updates in the interim.
And who knows, the results just might surprise you. Join the DIY Library Design Facebook group and let me know if your results were accurate!
